Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD)

In Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD), patients perform manual exchanges.  Fresenius Medical Care's CAPD system features our proven stay•safe connectology.

stay•safe system

The heart of the stay•safe system is the DISC, a central control switch regulating all treatment steps and using PIN technology for safe disconnection. The system reduces operating errors and eliminates clamps and the breaking of cones. In addition, stay•safe tubing sets and solution bags are manufactured from Biofine, a material developed by Fresenius Medical Care that is environmentally friendly and free from DEHP.

DISC technology: No clamps – just turn

With a simple control switch regulating all treatment steps, patients no longer have to worry about clamping the wrong lines, forgetting where they are in the sequence, or the risk of potential exposure to infection when they disconnect. The DISC guides patients through the exchange, increasing compliance and simplifying training and education.

PIN technology: Ensuring safe disconnection

Our patented system of automatic disconnection combined with built-in disinfection provides patients with unique safety.  The PIN system automatically closes the catheter extension before disconnecting and thus limits the risk of infection. It is available for CAPD, APD and pediatric systems.
