PD SPECIALIST (Ontario)

Fresenius Medical Care Canada is currently recruiting for a regular, full-time PD Specialist working out of Ontario. The position entails the following:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Supports our mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy. Adheres to our Compliance Program, including following all regulatory and division/company policy requirements.

Under the direction of the Manager Contract Management, this individual is responsible for all customer proposals and contracts administration. This individual will work within the Sales department and collaborate closely with the Marketing and Finance department.

DUTIES / ACTIVITIES:


CUSTOMER SERVICE:

  • Responsible for driving our company culture through values and customer service standards.
  • Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication.
  • Takes the initiative and action to respond, resolve, and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Promote our PD products in a manner consistent with the corporate strategies.
  • Coordinate, support and execute customer clinical & product presentations and/or clinical evaluations required to grow our PD market share, focusing on the clinical aspects of PD and fluid management.
  • Establish and maintain adequate coverage of PD clinics whether located in hospitals or in the community in the designated territory according to the level of existing business or sales potential in each account.
  • Identify and develop a professional and business relationship with the key decision makers and respective PD clinical professionals (i.e. PD Nephrologists, PD Nurse Manager, PD Patient Care Coordinators, PD Educators) in each account in the designated territory.
  • Promote the sales of our products through participation at International, National and Regional trade shows as needed.
  • Coordinate and conduct in-house and field based clinical training sessions for customers and our sales/clinical staff.
  • Maintain a high level of clinical acumen and expertise in PD Patient care, theory and clinical literature, including CAPD and APD and other PD regimens.
  • Assist marketing in the development and implementation of an our PD clinical product training program.
  • Assist marketing in the creation of a new clinical tools and program for our internal and external customers.
  • Participate in a minimum of a weekly call, provide a monthly report and prepare and present a quarterly business status review with manager in an agreed upon format.
  • Utilize company tools such as Sugar CRM, Contract Calendar, Blue Sheeting or Account Planning tools.
  • Maintain accurate and updated account information, inputted into Sugar CRM, i.e. names of key personnel, patient census and market share by PD product area (CAPD/APD etc.) on each dialysis facility in the designated territory.
  • Develop an annual business plan two months prior to each new fiscal year.
  • Adhere to all company SOPs and business compliance standards.
  • As requested, participate in business proposals to renew existing contracts or gain new business in a timely manner and respond to RFPs.
  • Manager field expenses in a manner consistent with corporate guidelines and territory budget. Submit a weekly expense report.
  • Document and report all customer complaints.
  • Ability to travel throughout territory as needed.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Nephrology Nursing Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Current Provincial Registered Nurse Certification of Competence
  • CNA Certification in Nephrology Nursing (or to be completed within one year from hire date)
  • 3-5 years of current peritoneal dialysis experience is mandatory
  • Current experience in patient and/or staff teaching
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with all members of the renal team
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft operating systems
  • Ability to travel extensively within region and work flexible hours
  • Bilingualism is an asset
